Grant Evaluation Process
From June to August the Valentine Foundation Trustees review all of the letters of intent; each Trustee selects a few specific proposals which conform to our guidelines and which she wishes to champion for possible funding. In this same time period the Trustee will contact the organizations she has selected to gather any additional information needed to support the request, clarify any issues and possibly schedule a site visit.
In September the Trustees convene for a two-day meeting to discuss each of the proposals identified for possible funding. The organizations that are selected at this stage of the process will be contacted by a Trustee, given feedback about the request and invited to submit a full proposal by (October 30th). The Trustees meet again in November to review the detailed proposals and make the final grant allocations. The grants are mailed by the end of November.
